The Bat and Ball B&B was clean, well presented and tastefully decorated. Our room was warm and a good size, bed was comfy. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Easy-peasy check-in and communication from the hotel was excellent. Continental breakfast was plentiful and of a very good standard including fresh pastries, and berries. Staff member at breakfast was friendly and attentive and made sure breakfast items were topped up. Location is a good 20 minute walk from the main high street so we got a taxi to take us into town in the evening (£10). This didn't put us off as the accommodation was so good (and you'd pay more for town centre anyway!). We'd definitely stay here again.

The Bat and Ball is perfectly located on Old Dover Road, which means we could walk for 10 minutes and arrive at the city walls of Canterbury, down under the subway, and we were there. Canterbury is a must-visit town, yes, it has a cathedral, which makes it a "city", but it feels like a town. We walked for hours exploring the old and modern shops, buildings and cobbled lanes. The cathedral costs £18.00 to enter and is stunning, then a pint in the Shakespeare, perhaps to soak up the atmosphere. Breakfast is amazing with a huge bowl of fresh strawberries and yoghurt, tea, coffee and pain au chocolat, yummy!

Efficient check in process, helpful staff, rooms newly finished and immaculately clean. Set up on top floor was perfect for our family of 5 - two rooms on their own landing and one slept up to 4 people. Beds comfortable and the property was quiet even though there were guests downstairs. Continental breakfast was fine but finished at 9am which was a bit early on a weekend and considering checkout is 10. That would be my only suggestion to improve. We would definitely book again.

It was a really nice room with a four poster bed and a very thick comfortable mattress (tbh one of the best we've slept on). There was an oscillating fan which was quiet and with a strong breeze that was really great on one of the hottest days of the year. Large bathroom shower. Friendly staff lady at breakfast.

Excellent, spacious family room. So clean and all amenities we could need. Really impressed. Good communication leading up to our stay. Family room was bigger than I thought and great bathroom. Really great room and nice breakfast
